Snippet.

Oh hey May. Where did you come from?!
Seriously though, I feel like the warmer the weather = faster time flies.
I am SUPER behind on blogging and I feel terrible about it because so much as happened lately!
Since my last post, Drew and I spent conference weekend with his parents in Cedar, then Easter weekend was spent at Sand Hollow with all of my family, and then two weekends ago we spent in Cedar with Drew's friends to wish them farewell on their summer of selling in Arkansas, and then last weekend we spent up in Richfield for my cousin Mara's sealing as well as her blessing and her big brother's Elder ordination.
What a busy life, right!? Oh and to top it off, Drew finished his second semester of school (woot woot!) And we just found out today that he has to get surgery on his nose because he has a deviated septum or something of that sort.
So where do I start?
First off I guess I should say that keeping a succulent alive is HARD. But I am not giving up. I will figure out what the secret is.
Second, I think I write better when I have individual blog posts about our events.
So with that said, I will leave it at that and start on individual blog posts about all our events.
Oh, and also we will be going to Richfield every weekend this month so hopefully I will be better about documenting our trips!
Love,
Kate

March happenings

I never knew how great life could be. Sure it has it's ups and downs, but being married to the greatest guy in the world makes everything wonderful all the time! Even when skies are gray.
I guess it's because I married a big ball of sunshine though. I am one lucky girl!
Drew and I are loving the married life. It's been almost 10 months now and it still seems like it was just yesterday that we were entering the temple to be sealed for time and all eternity! Time sure does fly.
Every day is such a blessing.
We both have good jobs, Drew is doing wonderful in school and only has three more weeks left! Woot woot!!
We're loving the weather right now in St. George because it's not hot quite yet, but it's not super cold anymore either! (Not that it got that cold anyways.. but still.)
I'm not going to lie, I am dreading the scorching heat & I know that I will be wishing we had a pool here in the next couple months, but at least Sand Hollow isn't too far!
Speaking of which, we are looking forward to going to Sand Hollow for Easter weekend with a bunch of family and relatives! That will be fun.
And we are looking forward to conference this weekend. We will be watching it with Drew's parents up in Cedar.
Last weekend was extremely eventful! Let me tell you about it. My cute family came down from Richfield to spend the weekend with us.
Friday they came down and they brought our love seat!! YIPEE!! So now we have two couches and our apartment feels like a home. :) I love it!

We went to Kambry's track meet and got there just in time to watch her throw javelin. She ended up taking 2nd place!!! It was so awesome. I was so proud of her! The girl who took first threw so far she broke her school record, the state record, and quite possibly the U.S. record!!! It was insane! But it was neat to see too. She had 50 ft on Kambry's throw, ha ha!
That night after the track meet we went to In and Out and enjoyed a burger. It was yummy. Me and Drew shared some fries "animal style" and they were dang good! [Thanks to the "secret menu"]
That night we were all so pooped, we came home and got ready for bed (it was pretty late anyways by this time) and my whole fam slept out in my family room on air mattresses. We started watching Frozen and literally ten minutes later everyone was out. They fell asleep so fast it was funny!
The next morning we got up and went to the meet to watch Kam throw shot and that was fun too. She is pretty solid and muscular but she was the SMALLEST one out of all the other top throwers!! She made it to finals but didn't place. It's okay though we were just proud she made it to finals! :D She is awesome.
We went to lunch at the Pasta Factory after that and yummmm... our tummies were happy.
Later that night we went to the temple (my sister Kinsley's request) and walked around it and took pics. It was so simple but it was so much fun!
When we got back home we put Frozen in again and then everyone fell asleep super fast. We were exhausted.
The next morning (sunday) Drew and I got up and went to church to teach our sunday school class and then came home. We bummed for the rest of the morning and then I made them sunday dinner! Easy cheesey BBQ casserole. <recipe here> It turned out to be delicious!! They all loved it!
We finished our afternoon by playing a few rounds of wackee six and then they left around 3 or 4pm.
The weekend was busy but oh so fun! We miss them already but we are excited to have them in our home again in a couple weeks!

On another note! We have been busy with some home projects lately. Over spring break we finished painting our kitchen table and finally finished upholstering our kitchen chairs! They turned out really cute. I also painted our end table and rocking chair, so now all our furniture is actually coming together! It feels really good.
My next goal is to get some fun pillows on our couches. Then I will take some pics and post them so ya'll can see!

Well that's all for now.
Much love.

Love,
Kate

Succulents and blossoms

Oh dear, it's March already and I feel like I haven't blogged forever. I need to change that.
Life is amazing though and Drew and I are happier than ever!
Here's a little update:
Drew and I were called as 7 yr old primary teachers and we have enjoyed it so much already! We have the cutest class and we've been able to attend some of their baptisms and it is just so neat to be able to teach those sweet kids the gospel!
It is hard sometimes, but it is so worth it and we have grown to absolutely love it!
Drew has kept busy with school and work and can't wait for the semester to be over. Luckily it is Spring Break right now so he is happy for that!
I am busy working at preschool in the mornings and then at Dixie in the afternoon. It's tiring, but it pays off!
We have some fun projects in store for the future (painting furniture and getting a new couch) and eventually we will be buying a car! Drew is pretty determined to take us to Disneyland this summer for our anniversary so I guess we'll see if that happens ;)
<I cut my bangs again!>
Lately we have been loving the warm weather, watching movies together, trying new recipes, going on walks in the evenings around the temple, and air popping popcorn.
Oh, and let's not forget the fun dates that we enjoy!! Even if they're as simple as eating pizza and watching a redbox movie. Times like that are our favorite.
Did I already mention how much we are loving the warm weather? ha ha
Life is good to say the least!
All I can say is that I absolutely love Drew and not a day goes by that I think how blessed I am to have him in my life. He makes me smile and laugh every single day and I love falling in love with him more and more every single day.
<just some fun little homemade decor>

Love,
Kate

ps. meet the newest member of our family! It's a succulent and Drew named it Walli. I am totally in love with it and it makes our home feel new even though it is just a little guy. Crossing my fingers that I can actually keep it alive!!!

Valentines 2014

Valentines day was wonderfully spent with loved ones.
Drew and I surprised my family by arriving in Richfield earlier than any of them were expecting. We heart attacked their door and door bell ditched them with a treat. Kinsley caught on right away that it "must be Kate & Drew!!" because we used gold glittery hearts and she knows I'm kind of obsessed with gold and glitter... haha
It was a fun surprise though!
Later that evening my mom set up for a cute and funny dinner and it was a nice full of laughter and fun.
We got chinese take out and dished up our own plates. Then we had to choose a paper heart that was on the table and find the corresponding numbered bag that goes with it. We had to use whatever was in the bag as our utensil to eat our food!
It was really funny! Some of us got chopsticks, a wooden spoon, and/or prongs, while others lucked out and got a normal fork! Or spoon!

It was lots of fun! We ended the night with some games. And that was that!
Thanks mom for the fun Valentines day!! It was awesome to be in Richfield again with the whole family. We love you guys!
Love,
Kate

February.

It's February. My home is now decorated in pinks and reds and love is in the air!
This past weekend my cute aunt Katie and her husband Briant came down to St. George for a couple days to celebrate Katie's birthday! They stopped by to visit with me on Wednesday night (her actual birthday) and I gave her a picture that I had created/painted for her! She loved it :) Hopefully she'll send me a picture of it hanging up in her home as soon as she gets it up ;)
Thursday night she and Briant invited Drew and I over to their place for pizza and games! We brought the games and they provided the pizza... AND like 7 different flavors of soda for taste-testing! It was so much fun! They had picked up mostly rootbeer flavors, but there was a couple random ones too-- like chocolate dipped maple bacon, sasparilla, and vanilla carmel cream soda. They were sure fun to try! But I am not sure if I would enjoy drinking the chocolate dipped maple bacon every day... haha not my thing.
It was fun to catch up with them though!
The next night we had the great idea to make some crafts for our home, hence why my home is now decorated in pinks and reds :D
We ended up making some fun Valentine banners while the guys watched netflix. I love crafting and it was especially fun to be paired up with Katie because we came up with some great ideas together!
They had to leave early the next morning so our night ended a little earlier than we would have liked, but nonetheless,we love the time we get to spend with Bri and Katie and we love whenever they come down.
The next day neither Drew or I had to work and so we decided to work on putting together our bookshelf that we got from Target! We are going to be using it as an entertainment center! It is the perfect size and has the shelves that I wanted and so we are both really excited about it.
Whether or not we will paint it is yet to be decided... but painting is definitely in the future for us because we have a few different pieces of furniture that I would like to be a different color.
We treated ourselves to "The World's Best Corndog" (a truck parked outside of Ace Hardware in St. George) ... YUM!! And then ended the night with the Jensens. They invited us over for dinner and it was fun to catch up with them too.
Now we are up in Cedar for the Superbowl.
Then onto another busy week full of school (for drew) and work (for me.. and well, Drew too).
Happy February!

Love,
Kate

ps. here are some pics of the most clever birthday present ever! From Katie and Bri-- my very own personalized cereal!!!
