A week in Richfield

I decided to take Lila up to Richfield for a week. I had my last day of work last week, my hunt is next week, and so is General Conference, so it all worked out well for us to come up to hang out for a week!
Drew stayed home in St. George to work. He's not alone though, our cousin Shay is living with us right now so they are keeping each other company.

Anyways, this week in Richfield has been heavenly. First of all, the weather has been ideal! Not too hot and not too cold!
Second, the changing colors of the leaves all around is incredibly beautiful and breath taking. I love this time of the year with the seasons changing. It means the holidays are just around the corner! There is just something special about the leaves changing, pumpkin patches and pumpkin flavored everything, crisp fall air, and cinnamon smells. Oh AND the harvest!!!! Probably one of my favorite things about this time of the year as well! Gardens are flooding over with the rewards of hard work, specifically my grandma Carol's.

We got to spend the evening up at Grandma Carol's house one night. She invited us up for dinner-- homemade chicken noodle soup and homemade bread (YUM)! After dinner we went out to her garden and picked raspberries, a cantaloupe, cucumbers, and tomatoes. She also had apples overflowing her trees! It was such a sight to see. I loved it! It was so fun being out there in her garden with Lila on my hip. It was sooo magical, a memory that I will remember forever. It's amazing that at her age (almost 84) she can still take care of a beautiful garden and be rewarded with delicious produce. She's such an example to me of hard work and dedication and love. She's amazing!
One of the days my friend Kenzie brought over her daughter Tycie who is just a few weeks younger than Lila. It was fun to see them together at this age! (7 and 8 months old) Their first interaction was of them holding their hands out at each other almost like they were trying to give each other high-fives haha! It was cute! We watched them play as Kenzie and I got to catch up. It will be so fun to watch Lila and Tycie grow up together :)
My friend Corrie also brought her son Eli over. He is a year and a few months older than Lila. He's so cute and it was fun to see them play together as well! I also had fun catching up with Corrie. She's so kind!
My mom has taken for me every morning so I can get an extra hour of sleep and it has been so nice! Plus I think they've enjoyed the bonding time. Lila also has enjoyed visiting preschool this week! She is amazed at the kids and likes listening to Miss Polly sing songs and read books.
It's been a simple, easy, laid back week but that is exactly what I have needed. It's been so good to be home. I love it here. I need to figure out how we can move here because it is so dreamy, I feel like I'm "home" when I'm here. I love everything about Richfield.

One morning we met up with my mom's sisters at the Sugar Bean Bakery for brunch. It was so yummy! We all got something different and pretty much passed our plates around haha. It was fun!

My artwork I did for Petal Lane found upstairs in the Loft at the Sugar Bean Bakery :)
Lila playing patty cake. She is SO SMART!

We will be having the missionaries over for dinner tonight and then we are heading over to grandma's to pick some apples. Then tomorrow we will go up to Fishlake for the weekend! My dad is already there hunting and I am going to join him! We'll see if I get anything.. wish me luck!
^ Her face cracks me up here! ^

This doll was my first doll when I was a baby :)

Lila LOVES to eat apples so she was so happy when I gave her this apple!

Thanks mom and dad for letting us stay the week! We love you!

Love,

Kate
