Family Photoshoot (Lila 6 Months)

My amazing friend Lindsey from L.T. Photography took our family photos the other day, and in honor of Lila being 6 months old!

We went up Cedar canyon. It was perfect a beautiful setting with perfect weather, good friends, lots of laughs, and wonderful memories. Lindsey & her husband Parker make the perfect team. It's so fun working with them! Lindsey has been a good friend to me for three years now. She took our photos on Lila's Birth day! She also took some photos of Drew and I 6 months after we were first married, and she took Drew's family's pictures during the cold snowy winter in 2014! She's easily becoming our "family photographer" and we can't wait to make more memories with her as she continues to capture our family for years to come! We love you Lindsey & Parker!!

August Snapshots

Painted this tree for my friend Laura and her preschool.

I think it looks so cute in that reading corner!

(from Dallas :))

Found my mom some letters for her dream of having an alphabet wall!

My little cutie is getting so big!

Worked at the cutest little family event to promote the museum. We made "memory balls" out of balloons and glow sticks to go along with the movie that played that night- Inside Out!

Thanks to our cousin Shay for tending Lila and putting her to sleep :)

Lila's 6 month checkup, although here she is 7 months!

Fun night getting ice cream and then doing some crafts to finish up my mom's alphabet for her wall!
Lila eating a little saturn peach from my parent's peach tree in Richfield!

Her grasp punctured the skin of the peach and juices were all over the place. She loved it though!
Love that smile and those eyes! And can't forget her monkey feet!!

August went by SO fast. But it was good.

Lila is seven months old!

My Lila girl is seven months old! She's cuter than ever and the loveliest thing I've ever seen. She's 27 inches long and weighs 16 lbs 10 oz. She's quickly growing out of all her clothes. We will need to go shopping for new fall clothes soon! I bought her some pj's the other day and thought she'd be able to wear them for a while... nope. They're already tight on her! She's bigger than I realize! (But she is right on track.. wearing 6-9 size clothing now.)

She has so many tricks these days! She will say "heh" to get your attention and then she'll say it back and forth with you for a few times! It's so fun and funny! She loves the intro of the show, Little Einsteins and bounces and claps to it. It makes her so happy and excited!
She LOVES to eat! She enjoys eating pureed veggies and rice cereal, fresh fruits like peaches, strawberries, lemons, and limes, and pickle spears. She also likes to eat those little star things! (I don't know the name, but we just let her try the strawberry apple kind and she loves them!) As for food she does not like, she still doesn't like slimy bananas, and she especially does not like pureed fruits for some reason!? Luckily she likes her veggies though :)
She can sit up on her own (but we still prop pillows behind her just in case) and she still does not like being on her tummy. Crawling is probably not in the near future for her, haha but that is okay!
She is such a happy girl! She can give high fives and she can say "MOMMMM!" and "mama!" It's amazing! She can clap but keeps her left hand in a fist. It's the funniest/cutest thing ever! Also, this month I pulled out my keyboard and I've let her play it multiple times. She loves it!!!! She has music in her blood and rhythm in her fingers! She is something special, for sure!
We love you Lila Jane!!!!

Fishlake at the Jensen Cabin

We've been looking forward to going to Fishlake again since our last trip in June. It's our favorite place to be!
We headed up Thursday afternoon. Lila is at the point where she doesn't sleep very long any more in her car seat so I have been sitting in the back with her to keep her company and to keep her busy. She has been getting really annoyed of long car rides lately and I don't blame her. Poor girl! But we made it to Fishlake and the party started!!
We had pizza for dinner and then went out looking for deer with my dad while my mom stayed home with Lila. When we got back, Lila was asleep so we had our traditional chocolate fondue with apples and bananas.

The next morning we had yummy breakfast. We spent the day lounging around the cabin playing games and eating more good food. We eventually drove out to the look out point and it was gorgeous! It was cloudy and amazing and everyone was super happy and having so much fun together!
We made tinfoil dinners that evening and played more games but by the end of the night everyone was pooped so we went to bed quickly.

The next morning we got up early to head down to Richfield for our cousin Oakley's baptism. It was so fun to see our family and to be there for his special day!

We headed back up to Fishlake after the luncheon and spent the day taking it easy! It was seriously so nice to just lay back and and relax with my family. Being away from the world and social media and the internet while spending time with family makes such a big difference in quality time! It was a nice break from the world and I was so happy to be surrounded by my favorite people.
We shot bows (I tried but failed miserably) and had a little dance party! We also took Lila out on her first four wheeler ride and I think it's safe to say she loved it! It was so fun!

We roasted marshmallows over the stove and gave Lila her first cabin bath in the sink! After Lila went to sleep we all did facial masks and played rummy. It was a fun evening with lots of good memories!

The next Sunday we spent the early afternoon down by the lake walking around for a little while. Afterwards we went back to the cabin for lunch. Grandma Carol and Grandpa June and Lisa came up to eat with us and spend the afternoon! We had the best lunch-- bbq chicken, homegrown potatoes, and squash, fresh watermelon and cantaloupe, and cucumber salad. Yummm!
We said our goodbyes and headed back to St. George later that evening. It was such a fun trip but we were happy to get home and Lila was happy to be back in her normal surroundings.
Thanks mom and dad for providing us with such a great weekend! We love you guys!

Love,

Kate
