We've been looking forward to going to Fishlake again since our last trip in June. It's our favorite place to be!
We headed up Thursday afternoon. Lila is at the point where she doesn't sleep very long any more in her car seat so I have been sitting in the back with her to keep her company and to keep her busy. She has been getting really annoyed of long car rides lately and I don't blame her. Poor girl! But we made it to Fishlake and the party started!!
We had pizza for dinner and then went out looking for deer with my dad while my mom stayed home with Lila. When we got back, Lila was asleep so we had our traditional chocolate fondue with apples and bananas.
The next morning we had yummy breakfast. We spent the day lounging around the cabin playing games and eating more good food. We eventually drove out to the look out point and it was gorgeous! It was cloudy and amazing and everyone was super happy and having so much fun together!
We made tinfoil dinners that evening and played more games but by the end of the night everyone was pooped so we went to bed quickly.
The next morning we got up early to head down to Richfield for our cousin Oakley's baptism. It was so fun to see our family and to be there for his special day!
We headed back up to Fishlake after the luncheon and spent the day taking it easy! It was seriously so nice to just lay back and and relax with my family. Being away from the world and social media and the internet while spending time with family makes such a big difference in quality time! It was a nice break from the world and I was so happy to be surrounded by my favorite people.
We shot bows (I tried but failed miserably) and had a little dance party! We also took Lila out on her first four wheeler ride and I think it's safe to say she loved it! It was so fun!
We roasted marshmallows over the stove and gave Lila her first cabin bath in the sink! After Lila went to sleep we all did facial masks and played rummy. It was a fun evening with lots of good memories!
The next Sunday we spent the early afternoon down by the lake walking around for a little while. Afterwards we went back to the cabin for lunch. Grandma Carol and Grandpa June and Lisa came up to eat with us and spend the afternoon! We had the best lunch-- bbq chicken, homegrown potatoes, and squash, fresh watermelon and cantaloupe, and cucumber salad. Yummm!
We said our goodbyes and headed back to St. George later that evening. It was such a fun trip but we were happy to get home and Lila was happy to be back in her normal surroundings.
Thanks mom and dad for providing us with such a great weekend! We love you guys!
Love,
Kate
