You know you're going to have a good weekend when your best friend comes to town. However, good would have been and understatement for us this past weekend. It wasn't just a good weekend, it was a GREAT weekend!
My best friend Tiana & her boyfriend Jordan came from Provo to spend the weekend with us. They got to St. George around 8pm Friday night. We met up at Texas Roadhouse and got to eat some yummy food while we caught up. We hardly get to see each other because we live so far from each other so it was definitely good to catch up.
After dinner, we headed to Fiesta Fun to ride the go karts. It was a blast! Jordan and Drew ended up battling it out the entire time while Tiana and I did the same. I ended up knocking her go kart around a corner which made her unable to turn around --ha ha-- and so the worker had to come help her straighten out. (Sorry Tiana ;) But luckily it was towards the end of the race so it didn't affect us too much.
After the go karts we did the batting cages. That was fun too! I'd never done them before. It was funny to watch all of us attempt at being athletic because let's be honest, we definitely aren't as athletic as we were back in high school. It was fun though and we will definitely be doing that again sometime!
Afterwards we met up with Tiana's little sister and new husband at Nielson's Frozen Custard for a few minutes before it closed. Drew and I got a sundae with whip cream and a cherry on top. It was perfect and so yummy!
The next day we made french toast, juice, and sausage for brunch and then we got ready to go to the lake. We made individualized tin foil dinners: meat, carrots, potatoes, onions, and your choice of soup to go on top. Then we got floaties, wood, charcoal, and other lake snacks.
We went to Gunlock Reservoir for the afternoon/evening. We hiked over the dam to get to the sandy shores. We soaked up the sun, swam in the perfect blue water, played volleyball on the beach (the boys LOVED diving in after the ball into the water), made a fire pit, cooked dinner, played music, and eventually roasted smores. It was literally the perfect summer day. None of us wanted it to end.

The weekend was wonderful and spending it with my best friend made it even better. I miss her so much and wish that we lived closer so we could see each other more often, but if I'm lucky enough to spend the weekend with her every once in a long while, then I am happy.
Love,
Kate
