February Snapshots

Gosh I just can't believe how fast time is flying by! Here are some pics from February of some of my favorite moments.
This is Lila laying on a homemade quilt that a friend from college made for us!

There have only been a few times that I have worn Lila in her baby wrap where she has either slept, or been content enough for me to do something like sketch! haha! This was one of those moments :)

Snapchat's newest filter-- face swap. Drew and Lila!!!

My favorite moments every single morning- right after feeding we just lay together in my bed.

I love how her lips look when they squish together like that!

Look at that little belly starting to grow and grow!

Isn't she perfect?!

I LOVE her cheesy smiles that are so big her eyes squint! It's my favorite!

I think she looks like Drew's baby pics in this one!

This wrap/waist trainer thing works wonders! Thanks to my cousin who gave it to me!

Kate

Lila is One Month Old!

The first month of Lila's life sure did go by quickly! I've decided to take monthly pictures of her with her Slumber Sloth to document her growth.
Lila is a little grunter. She grunts to get our attention-- mostly when she is hungry in the middle of the night, uncomfortable, or needs a diaper change!
She weighs in around 9 lbs 11 oz and is around 21 inches long!
She is most definitely a happy girl and an amazing baby most of the time! She only tends to cry (but not really cry-- just whines) when she is hungry!
She LOVES music. We like to play Rock a Bye Baby station on Pandora. It plays trendy music but in lullaby form! It's adorable. We like to put it on every night when we bathe her and get her ready for bed.
She is happiest in the mornings right after we wake up for the day. She is full of smiles and is pretty reactive. However, as the day goes on she gets a bit stubborn and getting her to smile can be tricky sometimes.

She still gets the hiccups about once everyday or so and she does not like it. Poor girl had them all the time when she was in my tummy too! But feeding her gets rid of them right away :)
Speaking of feeding, this girl is a little PIGLET! She loves to nurse and eats about every 2 hours or less. She definitely doesn't give mommy a break but luckily I am adjusting to waking every couple hours in the night, haha and I've survived so far! ;)
Lila is our greatest joy. She is so beautiful and continues to amaze us every day!

Kate

Valentines Weekend 2016

We had a great Valentines weekend! My family came down from Richfield and stayed with us a for a couple days. We celebrated Valentines by ordering the traditional chinese food and we ate it with fun utensils! We ate fruit and chocolate fondue for dessert.

We spent the rest of the weekend watching movies and playing games together. It was really simple but really wonderful. We loved having them down and they enjoyed loving on Lila!

Lila's second week of life

Drew's mom Linda came to stay with us after my mom left! She stayed with us for that second week and we are so grateful for her help! It was a busier week-- we had more visitors and got some things accomplished.

Lila got to meet her great-grandma Micki and great-grandpa Doug! They came down to meet her on Monday and Summer came along too. They spent most of their time at our home visiting and taking turns holding Lila. They fell in love with her immediately!
Lila is their first great-grandchild so it's pretty neat for them and for me! I'm their oldest grandchild too so the entire situation is super special. We were so happy they made the drive to meet her and we had a wonderful time together!

Lila's umbilical cord fell off while Grandma Linda was there! That was a pretty monumental moment. Her belly button is gonna be so cute!

While Grandma Linda was here she sewed together some knit fabric I picked up at Joanns so I could have a baby wrap! It worked and I have loved wearing Lila around!
The second week of Lila's life was much different than her first. Things are falling into place and we are figuring out what works for us!
Thank you Linda for taking time off to spend time with us in our home. Lila loves you and we are grateful for all of your help, love, kindness, and support.
We are so lucky to have such wonderful people in our lives and Lila is lucky to have you as her grandma!

Love,
Kate
