Birthday surprises for Linda

What do you get someone who already has everything they ever want and need? PICTURES! haha! Linda (Drew's mom) has been talking about family pictures for quite a while now, especially ever since Lila has been born. That side of the family is not too fond of taking family photos but I thought it would be fun to set up a big family photo shoot with my favorite friend and photographer Lindsey. She's taken our family photos before and so everyone is familiar with her and we all enjoy her so I knew it would turn out well!

Linda's 65th birthday was Saturday, September 24th, and we planned the surprise photo shoot for that evening. When the evening rolled around we all sat down around the table to eat dinner and I gave her a present to open in front of everyone. It was a cute white frame that she can put up on her collage wall. In the frame I wrote, "Hoping this birthday will be a picture perfect day you'll remember forever," and then I also wrote in a card which read: "You're a picture perfect grandma. Happy Birthday! Now let's go have a family photo shoot!"

She got teary as she read it and was so happy and excited. We quickly scarfed down our yummy steak and bbq'd veggies, and then got ready for the event! We even planned on having the Model A in some of the pictures so Bill, Cally, and Mark putted down the road and met us at the photo location.

Drew posing HA HA.. right on the edge of the shade. Funny guy.
It was actually chilly-- colder than we had all planned-- but the location was cute and I am excited to see how the photos turned out! Unfortunately Lila's nose was running the entire time and her eyes were watery so both eyes and nose were red. But I am hopeful that she looks okay in most of the pictures.... ah guess we'll see!!

After an hour of pictures everyone was done. HA HA it was actually a little bit stressful, but after it was all over everyone thanked me for putting it together. I think Linda was really happy and will be excited to have photos of her beloved family.

This was called "wacky cake"-- Linda's request. It actually turned out!

We had chocolate cake afterwards and played some party games on the ps4. It turned out to be a fun day/night. Happy Birthday Linda!

Love,

Kate
