Lila is 6 months old!

It has been 6 wonderful, amazing, exhausting, life changing months with my baby. My beautiful girl just keeps getting cuter and cuter every single day! She has light in her eyes and happiness in her heart. She amazes us with how bright she is! Her hair is blonde, although there isn't much of it yet.
Her ears still stick out at the tops, and her eyes squint when she smiles really big!
She sleeps really well during the day for her naps. She will usually go right down to sleep if we notice her cues like rubbing her eyes or big yawns. We will just take her up to her room, turn the noise machine on, lay her down and give her the slumber sloth and lay the light muslin blanket over the top of her and walk out. She may babble or whine sometimes but only for a bit and then she's out! She usually takes her sloth in her arms and turns to her side and BOOM she's out. It's adorable!
Night time is similar. She'll go right down, however she will wake every few hours still to eat. It is exhausting for me although I am growing accustomed to it! Luckily for me she will just wake to eat and then go right back down. It's never a hassle or a fight with her! She's seriously the easiest baby it's amazing. We just wish she would sleep longer throughout the night :) But I have hope that we will get there eventually!
She takes formula when I'm away, and she nurses when I'm around. We have also introduced solids to her this month! She is learning to love rice cereal and gets really excited at night time when I make it for her! We recently bought a cute high chair and she likes to sit in it, so that is good!

I have also introduced cooked carrots, both in stick form and mashed. But the problem is her two little teeth! They are strong and she bites chunks off of everything I let her taste so it is a bit scary for us. She doesn't quite know how to swallow chunks and it may take a while for her to learn because she seems to be picky with textures! Especially mashed avocado (pureed is fine, but mashed bothers her) and mashed bananas. It must be the slimy texture of them! She has also tried cooked peas, and sweet potatoes both mashed and in fry form. She LOVED the sweet potato fries! But once again, she bit off chunks leaving me a little nervous!
She has also tried raw carrot and celery, and tasted plenty of apples! This past week we introduced bananas to her and she squinches her face like it's sour!? It's so weird!!! We get a kick out of it! I also gave her a bit of a strawberry to try in her mesh feeder and she LOVED it. She also likes to taste lemons too so maybe this girl has a taste for tart things!
I have been sure to leave multiple days in between trying new foods and so far so good! Besides the fact she throws up sometimes if a food's texture is too slimy for her... like when we try to feed her avocado or bananas haha poor girl. We'll get it figured out though!

She loves sitting on dad's shoulders and always grabs his hair and gets super excited! She also enjoys scooting around in her little walker that we got her. She uses her one leg to pivot around and it is the cutest thing ever!
Lila has begun saying "mamama" and sometimes even says, "hi!" Whether it's intentional or not, who knows.. but it sure is adorable and gets us excited! She babbles too all the time and sometimes (like during church) we can't get her to be quiet haha! At least she is such a happy girl! We couldn't be more blessed!

She also discovered how to play peek-a-boo with us this month. One day I was sitting at the table sketching some art pieces while she sat with me in the bumbo. She showed lots of interest in my paper so I handed her one to feel and taste and she started covering her head with it and peeking over it! It was awesome!!
This girl has so much going for her. WE LOVE HER SO MUCH!!!!

Love,
Kate
