My sister Kinsley and Konner came down to spend a few days with us. Kinsley had a break from drill team and so the two of them packed up their swim suits and bags and headed to 110+ degree weather down here in St. George.
My sister Kambry brought them down for the weekend, then she left them here for the next week. They went home on Thursday with our cousin Shay. It was definitely an eventful weekend and week! We went shopping on the weekend while Kambry was in town, and then later met up with my old friends Dustee and her husband Tyler. We ordered Hungry Howies Pizza and ate it at the Children's Museum because Drew had to work there for a while. It was a fun time! Afterwards we made a pit stop at Swig and then headed home and played some party games with everyone. We played Quiplash and Drawful-- which are games you can play from the TV just by using your cell phone. It was a blast and we had such a good time together laughing our heads off!
We spent Saturday swimming at our pool. Shay's shoulders were as pink as a lobster and Kambry's skin just kept getting darker and darker. It was fun and we pulled Lila around on a big floaty! She didn't seem too amused, but wasn't upset either so I'd call that a success!
After Kambry left, it felt like the next week zoomed by! Kinsley and Konner helped tend Lila while I went to work for a few hours every day. That was so helpful! I was very appreciative of that! We spent our time out at the pool almost every day, and also watched plenty of netflix/hulu and played games.
One of my favorite memories from this week was when I made carmel popcorn for all of us and Kinsley and I went upstairs and watched the Bachelorette in my bed together. She was commentating the entire time and I was laughing my head off! It was so much fun!
Before we knew it the week was over and the kids were on their way back home. Unfortunately the next day I found out that Kinsley had been up all night long throwing up! I was terrified we would get it but hoped that it was just something she ate...
Sure enough the next night I woke up feeling sick! Kinsley's sickness only lasted 15 hours, while mine lasted 40!!! It was so terrible, I was miserable beyond compare and I lost all of my energy and strength. I couldn't even lift Lila out of her crib! Luckily Linda came down for the day and was able to take care of Lila for a few hours while Drew and I rested. But it also turned out that Konner got sick too but his only lasted a few hours and Drew felt sick as well. MAN! What a bummer of a way to end the week. Plus it was Pioneer Day weekend. So it was pretty uneventful for Drew and I. we just stayed in bed all weekend long trying to take care of Lila. Definitely the hardest weekend of my life. But we made it through!
Thanks Kins and Kon for staying with us! I hope you will remember these times as good memories for the rest of your lives! WE LOVE YOU!
Love,
Kate
