Lila is 4 months old!

Lila, this is the funnest stage you have been in yet! I get so excited every single day to see what new things you discover and learn to do.

You are curious about EVERYTHING. You try to taste anything that comes near you and you especially love my blue hospital mug and straw. You like to grab it and bring it to your mouth! I've even let you taste some of the water from the end of the straw. You love it!
I've also let you taste a stalk of celery, a baby carrot, and a slice of an apple! Of course you can't eat it yet, but you sure like to taste the different foods you see us eating! You especially love apples and I'm sure you would scarf it right down if I let you! It will be fun to see you eat actual food one of these days.
You're getting really long! But still pretty slim. You are still wearing a size 1 diaper, although you are in size 3-6 month size clothing. Even some of those sizes are becoming too small for you! Because it's so hot where we live, you mostly wear onesies every day. But it's fun to dress you up whenever we can!
You love your voice and seem to have figured out your volume levels. Especially when other people are trying to have a conversation you have no problem making noises as loud as you can so we can barely hear each other! It's quite funny!
You are also slowly starting to giggle and make cute squeal type sounds more often! You enjoy slightly being startled, but too much makes you nervous. "I love you a bushel and a peck" is still your FAVORITE song and you seem to show interest in all types of music/singing... especially musical/disney movies! We watched Frozen the other day and every time a song came on, you were glued to the TV! You even spread your arms out at one point like you were singing along and saying, "let it go! let it go!" It was adorable and sooo funny!
You can hold your head up completely, although you are a bit shaky sometimes. You can also roll over from your belly to your back sometimes! Mostly out of frustration though. You hate being on your belly SOOO much, that you will not have anything to do it with it! You try so hard to turn over but sometimes your arm gets in the way. When that happens, you use your feet to lift you up like a stink bug. One of these days you're going realize what you're legs can do and then it will be a whole new world for all of us!
You're starting to sleep better now too! YAY! You go down around 9 pm, give or take. And you'll usually wake to eat around 3 am, and then not again until 7 am. By then, you are up for the day and happy as ever. Sometimes in the morning if you're sleeping next to me and wake up, you touch my face or my back depending on how we're situated. It's my favorite!

Speaking of, you are learning to use your hands better to discover things! When you nurse, you love to touch my face and grab my nose. You also love when I kiss your hands and your neck!
I could go on and on about you. You're the best thing to ever happen to me and I would say your dad agrees! You also have all the heart eyes for your dad. You love to stare at him and watch his every move and you smile at him effortlessly. Your relationship is a beautiful one.

We love you so much and more every day little Lila!

Love,
Kate

May Snapshots

Drew and I are the 6 year old primary teachers. I've decided to make our own coloring pages for the lessons!

How sweet is Drew's Star Wars tie!? Thanks to 85knots for hooking us up!

My attempt to trace Lila's hand, haha! Also, Lila's first time ever painting!!

My biggest custom order to date. Almost 50 people!

HAHA! Her one long hair that she was born with coming off her ear. SO FUNNY!

Just wanted to document her funny hair and cute little stork bites on the back of her neck.

Memorial Day

Lila's first memorial day was spent in Cedar! We drove up after I worked for a couple hours and had a delicious BBQ with Drew's family. It got me excited for the summer!

We played corn hole, visited, joked, and laughed all afternoon and evening. It was fun to be together!

Almost Lagoon trip

We have been planning on going to Lagoon with my family for a little while now. Kinsley was scheduled to dance up there so my family thought we'd make it an event and spend the day riding the rides at Lagoon.
This is a picture of Kinsley (on the left) and Lila on the right! Lila is a clone of Kinsley!!

We went to Richfield over the weekend and enjoyed a BBQ with the family. We were watching the weather and it kept looking worse and worse! (Rainy, windy, cold, etc.) We eventually made the decision for Drew and I to keep Lila home. We didn't want to risk it being miserable for us especially after the terrible lake experience haha. My family went up to Lagoon without us and it turned out to be decent weather! I was pretty bummed but happy it wasn't miserable for them.
However, we spent our time in Richfield that day visiting Grandma Carol and Grandpa June! It was SO good to see them. The time we spend together is never enough!!

It was a quick weekend but a good one. Spending time with my family is always wonderful.
I really wish we lived in Richfield so we could be closer to all of them... hopefully one day!

A week with the "Greats"

Lila's great Grandma Micki and great Grandpa Doug came down to stay for a week in the temple apartments. We did our best to spend as much time together as possible! We had them over for brats and fresh fruit the first night they were in town. Then the next night they had us over for frozen lasagna and alfredo! We also walked around the temple that night and had a really good time together.

We loved having them in town and Lila enjoyed seeing them. She loved grandpa's gold watch and we gave her a celery stick to chomp on for the first time ever! She didn't seem to mind it.

I got my grandma to try my favorite sushi --the phoenix roll from The Ninja-- and she liked it! They got to spend some time with us at the lake when my whole family came down and before we knew it we were saying goodbye.

Thanks for all the good times grandma and grandpa! We love you!

Love,

Kate
